How it works
What is FairTutor?
FairTutor is a website that connects people (like you!) who would like to learn Spanish with real teachers in Latin America, and gives you everything you need to hold classes online. We're not a Spanish School. We don't employ any teachers directly, and we don't have a campus that you can visit. We're just a marketplace that lets people teach Spanish online. The Market Place
FairTutor's marketplace is filled with dozens of Spanish teachers from all walks of life and every corner of the Spanish-speaking world. They are mostly individuals who run their own tutoring business through FairTutor, but if you look around you'll notice that there are several established Spanish schools in there too. You can browse through our Tutor directory and find people you might like to take lessons with. Before you commit to anything, you'll have a chance to get to know your potential tutor and decide if they're a good fit for you. Once you've picked a Tutor, you can begin scheduling classes and learning Spanish right away. Many of our tutors offer a free introductory lesson, so you might be able to try out our online classroom for free! The Tutors
Our tutors are all free to set their own hourly rates, so you'll know that the price they're charging you is a fair one to them and not a rate that FairTutor or anybody else has imposed on them. That's the reason we like to call the whole process "Fair Trade Tutoring". You can be sure that you're dealing with a real person making their own decisions, and not simply an employee of a large American company. The Classroom
FairTutor's Online Classroom is a state-of-the-art communication platform that features voice and video chat as well as a shared whiteboard that you can use to view and mark up class materials. It's based on an award-winning web meeting tool called Twiddla, and it's perfectly suited to teaching Spanish classes online.Payment, etc...
All payments can be made with a credit card. You'll just need to pay for your classes before you take them, and we'll handle the rest. It's really easy to get started, so instead of reading a bunch of boring instructions, why not try it out right now!
